It’s a fact that top blogs are known not only for their content, but also for their style. This means that the tone of each post is approachable, the subject matter is interesting to both a global audience and a niche group, and the quality of the writing is far superior to the barely-coherent ravings that constitute social networking pages. Bad writing is easy to find on the Internet, so make sure that yours is different. You’ll soon gain a following of readers who recognize the credibility you’ve built by constructing and maintaining a successful, unique, clean style.

Use Magnetic Headings and Subheadings
A substantial part of your goal as a blogger is to attract readers. Headings and subheadings are the first words new readers are going to process, so make them good. Good, in this case, means informative, attractive, intriguing, and relevant. You should be letting your readers know what they’re going to find beneath each heading or subheading without fully disclosing your main points. Try using short phrases that are strongly evocative or that arouse curiosity so that your followers will continue reading at least until the next heading.
Show Off Your ESP with Links
Try to anticipate what your readers might want to know more about. Make it easy for them to find the information they want or need. Since you obviously can’t include all the information on a given subject in one blog post, sprinkle links throughout your text to guide readers on their quests for knowledge or entertainment. If you can successfully answer questions as they’re asked by readers and address the desire for more information as it arises, followers will start to appreciate your sensitivity.
Know It All, But Don’t
Readers are often looking for information, so share some. Just don’t come across as some kind of wunderkind with an intimidating vocabulary and a brain that’s sucking up your body’s entire supply of growth hormones. Intersperse new information with a few tidbits that most readers will probably already know. This will build their self-confidence, so they’ll keep coming back for more.
Learn to Use the English Language Correctly
Seriously. Blogs have a conversational tone, but there are some things about everyday conversation that no one wants replicated in text. Making mistakes does not make you a maverick. It makes you look careless. Let your readers know that you respect them and your writing by keeping it free of blatant errors.
Keep the Aesthetic gods Appeased
Writing isn’t just about text. It’s also about the way your text looks on the blog. If you’ve just got a page-long chunk of words, readers are going to be overwhelmed and probably won’t try to make sense of it. Divide your post into manageable pieces and be sure that it doesn’t say nasty things about you. You have those great headings and subheadings, so use them to lead your readers from one idea to the next. If you can align the mental with the physical, you’ll have page breaks where your content changes and readers will be surprised at the ease with which they can navigate your posts. Don’t forget to use images, bullets, and simple formatting like bold, italicized, or underlined text.
Be Transparent with Your Enthusiasm and Opinions
If you’re not excited, no one else will be either. Show that you’re passionate about your topics, but avoid constant exclamations or readers will get annoyed with you! It’s also a good idea to voice an opinion, especially if it’s actually yours. Readers are pretty good at discerning whether or not your opinions are authentic, and they appreciate honesty, so get a little vulnerable and let them know what you think. This encourages responses from readers who agree, disagree, or just want to reciprocate by giving you their own opinions.

I enjoyed your thoughts on headings and sub-headings and can totally relate to being transparent with your enthuisiasm and opinions.

Michael
Exactly Michael,
You could easily tell why the post went live this morning – Heather is really an excellent writer.
Best is to include the major keywords for this article in the article title as well as in the first paragraph of the article in order to connect the reader with the content on the first view sentences of the article.
Exactly Andreas,
I am glad you enjoyed the post
Hi Oni

Hi Abhishek,
I am not the one who wrote this post, it is Heather Green.
And you are absolutely right, having great headlines is very important and it will affect how you succeed.
Hi Heather,
Some must have writing tips there which can improve our writing style and approach. Thanks for sharing the tips.
Thanks for sharing this post Oni.
Exactly Lye,
Heather really gave some great points and the writing is so simple and clear!
Super insight here Oni and Heather.
I like the transparency tidbit. Put yourself out there and show your passion. This resonates with like-minded people, creating a strong readership.
Never Forget To Be You!
Thanks for sharing the insight.
Ryan Biddulph
Exactly Ryan,
It is very important to be yourself and make this clear.
Thanks so much for commenting!
Soooo, Heather is not a fan of the social media, eh?
Amazing post of excellent advice.
A bit of constructive (I hope) criticism — it would be helpful if she had a by-line right up there at the top. There are elements here that make it confusing as to who has written this. And we all know we NEVER want to confuse the reader if at all possible.
Great Patricia,
Thanks so much for the feedback.
I never thought it that way and I already planned not to be putting “this is a guest post by…” above posts again, but now that you have shed some light on this (and since I am blogging for my readers)…I will do that right away and I will try to do it in further posts.
Blogging is all about the way you write. It’s the primary way for you to communicate with your readers. I have seen many blogs where the blogger doesn’t even know the English language. When really it’s as simple as using Microsoft Word to correct simple grammatical errors. However, if one keeps writing blog posts they will improve their writing with each post.
Great information, thanks for sharing
Exactly Mandeep,
Even though writing in good english is important, it is of no use writing rubbish. The best thing is to give value and try to make it as clear as you can.
Thanks a lot for commenting!
Hi Oni and Heather. Solid post. It’s vitally important to understand the basics ow writing when posting. Once you have them down, feel free to experiment with different writing styles, tones and formats. You might be surprised at what works best for your blog.
Exactly Steve,
Understanding the basics is really very important and it helps make everything better.
Many thanks to Heather for this great post!
Hey Oni and Heather,
Clean and unique style certainly makes a lot of difference. I makes the post readable ( or easy to browse…I must say)
Magnetic Heading is a must, to get the readers engrossed in the content. I agree with you guys…
And yes enthusiasm is a big one..I believe being passionate about your topic makes you more enthusiastic writing about it…Besides your audience can tell if you are enthusiastic or not….
-Adam Paudyal
Exactly Adam,
Being unique and clean is a must and the importance of great headlines should never be underestimated…
I’ve never read a blog that I totally agree with until now. Thanks for proving to me that somewhere out there’s a mind that understands
Very well written article that covers all the important points about the standards we should be aspiring to. I love reading well written posts. With so many blogs in the blogosphere competing for attention and visitors; it is important to be well ahead of the rest. If someone lands on your site and it is well presented with interesting posts that gives information they are looking for; usually visitors will not only enjoy being on your site but will also return for more.
Patricia Perth Australia
Exactly Patricia,
Being ahead of others is a must and this post outlines some basic steps every blogger must take.
Thanks so much for commenting!
Nice article. Really the first thing to get attraction is the style of post and style of website.
I want guest bloggers for my blog. Can you suggest how I may get guest bloggers?

Will plz you guest blog for us?
Great post
Its also important to not give away the best of what you have because then after that you will not have anything to match the previous post, so your readers will lose interest.
Hey Onibalusi,
Great tips, going to keep them in mind when writing my next posts. By the way, sorry its been taking so long with your posts on EpicLaunch, we’ve been offline for a few days.. Talk soon!
I liked the “Know It All, But Don’t” portion of this article. I have always been turned off by people that think they know everything. A good writer can convey the message without coming across as a know it all. Being personable and approachable are also good qualities to have as a writer. A well written post with these qualities in mind will make the reader feel at home with the author. Great post Heather. I enjoyed it very much.
Really great tips. These can certainly help me improve my writing. Thanks.
Great post Heather,
It is important to grab your reader and shake them from the start.
First a headline that makes them take notice and reda the first paragraph.
Then a first paragraph that makes them really take notice and get intrigued.
Followed by paragraph that really answers a question…on and on it is all a matter of drawing them in and keeping interest from start to finish. Magnetic headings and subheadings are a great way to help do this!
It’s true on all you have said about improving one’s writing style. Your writing style is like a signature and that’s also what makes you stand out as a blogger.
yes. oni, We should have not only unique content but also unique style. Now we know how brain clark writes article!!!
