Many bloggers start their blogs with great hopes but they are now taking it with levity, the more the age of their blog increases the more it dies.
Many people have already turned blogging to another thing, they treat their blogs how they like and they have locked out some of the most important and critical things that leads to success out of their blog.
We have a lot of blogs, in fact, we have millions and the truth is almost all these blogs are bound to fail, yeah! If you don’t get me right, a large percentage of the blogs we have are bound to fail.
Your blog might be a part of them and this post will be telling you 7 reasons your blog is bound to fail.
1. You Don’t Have the Right King: A king is the most important citizen in a kingdom and the king will determine a lot of things, including the future of the kingdom. Not just anybody can be a king but someone who deserves it.
Content is (and will always be) the blogging king and it has no substitute, you start digging your blogging grave the day you start substituting your content for another thing.
Having great content for your blog is as important as any other thing, you can be writing mediocre content now and everything seems to be okay, but the day you are unable to write is the death of your blog. The type of content that should be your king should be timeless content that will always be relevant even to generations to come.
If you make marketing your king then this is dangerous, if your king is your love of money then this is disastrous, it is only great content that will stand the test of time.
2. You’ve Left Yourself out of the Game: This is one of the major reasons why many bloggers will fail, they are no longer in their game, they are in another person’s game.
There is no value in trying to represent another person’s voice on your blog, if all you do today and tomorrow is want to be that blogger, then you are bound to fail.
Every successful blogger started from somewhere and they are not what they are by trying to be someone else.
Having your own touch and feel on your blog is critical to your blog’s success and you should not just spend your precious time trying to be someone else, there is no how you can succeed by being a clone of someone else.
Blogging is a lasting game and what matters most is the future, not now. You can have results trying to be another blogger but there is no how you can surpass that blogger and you won’t even be respected because you are not real, you are fake!
3. You Only Care About the Ephemeral: Many bloggers are out of their senses, they are not focusing on what matters, they are only focusing on what is of no effect.
It is very important to not to only consider the ephemeral when blogging but to set your eyes on the bigger picture, if all you are trying is to milk some cash out of your few visitors without thinking of the future effect, you might get some results now but you are definitely bound to fail.
Reputation is what matters most to successful bloggers and if you are ready to sacrifice your future for now then you are not doing what is right, you are only wasting your time.
Forget the ephemeral, focus on the future.
4. You Think You Are Perfect When You Are Not: Many bloggers will give excuses that they are no longer blogging because they have nothing to say, you have no point in saying this and even in every areas of life, there is nothing you can do that has not been done.
Blogging only takes your spin of creativity and irrespective of the niche you are there is nothing new you have to say, at least, that has not been said, it is how you say it that matters most!
If you think you are a perfect blogger and that you know what you are doing but others don’t, then rethink!
We all have opinions; we tell you what works for us and that necessarily does not make us perfect in any way. There is no point in you claiming to be perfect or in you claiming to be the all in all of blogging, that is outright blasphemy and it would cause your blog its life, desist from it!
5. Your Readers Are of No Value (So you believe): You have been blogging for sometimes now and you seem exalted, you have gotten where no man has gotten and you think your readers are of no importance.
If you are a blogger and you think what your readers are saying does not matter, you know what you are saying and what you are doing, so there is no need for them to be heard. If you think the best way to treat your readers is by abusing them and that after all you will only lose one or two of them then you are sacrificing the life of your blog, this is a deadly sin.
Your readers are the uttermost, they are the first on your list and they are the one you are writing for, even though your blog is your work and most of what is on it is your idea it doesn’t make your readers of no value and that does not mean they don’t know what they are saying.
Every reader has something to say and theirs is not necessarily the best, this doesn’t mean you should despise them or that you should not try to listen to them, there is always sense in what they say. Even if you will not implement what they say, give them your ears and don’t try to belittle them – they are as important as your blog itself!
6. Your Readers Are Out of the Game: Again, many bloggers commit this mistake, they fail to put their readers in mind when taking important decisions about their blogs.
Simplicity and easy navigability of your blog is as important as your content because how your content is read also matters as the content itself.
When trying to take a major decision about your blog it is very important to put your readers into consideration and know what they want.
Loading your blogs with irritating ads will surely bring in some bucks but is it what is the best for your readers? You should also try to put them into consideration when taking your decision because this will help you a lot.
7. You Don’t Know Your Readers: Well, this is not the usual type of readers. You might have hundred people subscribed to your blog while only 10 are your readers.
Your readers are human too, and they want the best for you. If someone begins to misbehave and tells you he is no longer going to read your blog because you are trying to make money from it then that fellow is not your reader, he/she is a “nonsense”.
Many bloggers begin to worry because of some words and reactions from some so-called nonsense who claims to be reading their blogs, this is so funny and don’t take any major decision based on what you hear from them, if you do then you are digging your grave.
People always have something to say so it is not what they say that matters but how you react to it. For example, I was reading on MarkoSaric.com that the media recently said that teens said pop up and banner ads on blogs is irritating to them and therefore it is useless, Marko now said, if they told businesses that teens hate the radio and billboards advertisements, does it mean they won’t advertise again?
Your readers are your readers and they love you for whom you are, they don’t begin to rear ugly heads when you are trying to make money from your effort, they want your best and they are ready to support you in what you do.
If you have a case of a reader (or some) criticizing some of your actions, take a look at what you are doing, is it ethical? Which type of reader is talking? If you are sure you know what you are doing then dismiss that so-called reader, he/she is probably nonsense.
Many bloggers commit some sins unaware and the truth they hardly want to hear is that if they continue in it their blogs will be dead in no time. Many of them don’t know and that is why this post is borne. The above are 7 reasons why your blog is bound to fail, if you are doing them then it is not too late, there is still time for change and if you are not doing them already, then congratulations, you are on your way to success.

Hi Onibalusi! Another great detailed post from you. I think most of the bloggers do not put much effort on their content but expect something good to be returned. In my opinion, content is the king. We can fool search engine but we cannot fool human.

It looks nice but it seem you guy set frequency of two intervals too short, I have seen three times while commenting on your blog. It should be once only. I am thinking to get one sooner. Thanks @Bami, very fast reply

Hi Tinh,
It was after upgrading to VPS that I installed it so every thing was reverted and I had to install it again (that was why it displayed twice).
I told it to display at every 7 day interval.
It might also display again if you clear your private data.
Thanks so much for your input, I really appreciate it,

Great list Onibalusi…you are spot on. I especially like point #2, ‘thinking you are a perfect blogger’. I don’t think people are looking for perfection, just real people who’ve made mistakes, learned from them and willing to help others from making those same mistakes.
It’s allowing people to connect to who you are as a person and professional and not the picture of perfection you think you’ve painted of yourself.
Here’s another one to add: quitting too soon! Having a successful blog takes time, commitment, work, and patience. I think many people don’t see results quick enough and give up before they’ve given it a chance.
Thanks for sharing the great post!

“Content is king” – I like how you put it. Excellent content can really win a lot of readers and subscribers. Even without doing aggressive SEO, having a fully optimized content will surely help getting good hits from Google.

Interesting insight. I can’t agree more when you say Content is King. The content should be timeless but it seldom happens in a real world scenario
The web-world is so dynamic that every moment things are changing and you need to keep pace with it.
