Do you have what it takes to catch a blogger’s attention

The main reason I am writing this post is because of CJ at Affiliate Groundz.

I received a mail last week from somebody called CJ, he asked if we can be friends, and help each other out in various ways (promoting, sharing e.t.c.).

I don’t like to turn people away like that and I tried my best to reply Him in a polite way. He has a great blog that talks about affiliate marketing and his posts are top-notch, but what caught my attention the most was his nice gesture.

Since his posts are great, I don’t have problem linking to him from my blog because my readers will also benefit.

What really caught my attention?

I subscribed to CJ’s Blog the first day I came across it because of His great content, I woke up the next day to find an email in my inbox, it was a post he wrote about me.

To be sincere, that was what caught my attention, if he hadn’t wrote that one, I wouldn’t have written this one first.

The lesson I am trying to pass across is that bloggers really want true relationship, they don’t just want people who will come and go or people who will not benefit them, they want REAL PEOPLE. The post CJ wrote told me he is not just those that want to eat from me but a serious blogger who truly wants bout of us to benefit.

Can you really get that blogger’s attention?

There’s one thing that will catch any blogger’s attention. No matter how popular they are…

Writing some decent content and being professional about contacting them. If you want them to give you the time of day, write something that isn’t complete crap and you’ll get results! :D

    • Hi Joe,

You are absolutely right, what CJ did put me in a point of not being able to reject or avoid writing a post about him.

Thanks a lot for the nice comment,

  4. Onibalusi,

Wow, look at you go! You’ve got a very sharp looking site here, and some obvious talent as well.

You’re absolutely right though, people are definitely looking for relationship and not lip service. You’re welcome to guest write at my blog anytime you’d like. Pick a topic, I’ve got around 30 active right now.

I predict, with your zeal and intent, that you’ll be a millionaire through your on-line efforts by the time you’re 20…if not 18. You’ve got a lot going for you Oni. The best of luck and synchronicity to you and your future.

I found this post interesting. My opinion is that the web, especially blogs are places to exchange experiences, much more than the simple exchange of links.
It is in giving that we receive. Much more than a saying, it must be a constant.

  17. Hi,
what is common between bloggers is that they both want traffic and comments on their posts.
Sharing links is the mutual benefit of both.
If they share their blog links on their posts, it will certainly prove good for both of them.
Thats what we have been practicing.

  18. Seun Kilanko says:

I believe I have got what it takes to get a blogger’s attention. It’s a simple thing. It’s just like getting the attention of a lady.

    1. You need to show genuine interest in the bloggers work.
    2. Let him see that you have a value to contribute to the relationship you both.
    3. Love talking about the blogger.
    4. Share the same point of view with the blogger.
    5. Be real

I can go on and on about this…these are the ones I think are the most important “connecting wire” not only between bloggers alone but also in real life.
