There are many people who are complaining of not making it or having problems succeeding online and I can assure you many of them will still be complaining in months to come. Why? The answer is in this post!
I have seen a lot of bloggers (both new and old) complaining about not being successful and I will just look at them and shake my heads because they don’t know what they are doing.
Just look at it, you are complaining of not getting results but what have you done to improve your situation?
The internet is not just about working harder, it is more about working faster. If you have the right knowledge and you do the right thing you will get better results.
PS: This post is not applicable to you if you don’t believe in yourself.
INVEST!
You can’t rule this out of your business, no matter how you try. Even though I said you don’t have to spend a fortune to make money online, there are still some basic investments you will have to do – What matters most is your ROI (Return On Investment!).
There are various ways by which you can invest in your business, it can be your time, money or your expertise.
If you have been reading my blogging story all this while, you will have noticed me saying I have written over 160 guest post for my blog this year, I am not saying that to boast but to let you know that building a successful blog takes “hard-work”.
You might not be that good at guest posting, why not try commenting on thousands of blogs every month and see the results you get.
You sometimes have to invest money by learning from those who are there. One great example of membership sites you can join is online profits (and now it is free).
You can also trade your expertise, for example, if you are a doctor and you know a successful internet marketer who is sick, you can render your services to him free and in exchange let him teach you internet marketing.
REWORK YOUR STRATEGIES!
The problem many bloggers face is not that they don’t have passion or that they have not worked hard on their blog, the problem most of them face is that they are implementing ineffective strategies.
If as a blogger, all you are trying is not working, all you need to do is change!
If you do write long posts and you are not getting traffic, change! If you do write once a week and you are not getting traffic, change! You don’t need to drive yourself and other people’s boat. Test and see what works for you!
You will notice I have been posting everyday and sometimes twice a day lately, the reason is because I am testing a new posting style and fortunately enough, it is working for me and I am going to stick to it!
HAVE A BACK-END!
My back-end is my list, yours can be your RSS feed, it doesn’t matter what your back-end is, just make sure you have a back-end that will help you gain recurring users. I don’t see any value in a visitor who comes and never comes back, your back-end is what helps you make sure that a large percentage of your readers are always coming back to your blog.
TAKE ACTION!
Another thing I see among bloggers is that they don’t take action, no! Not in the aspect of promotion, but in monetizing your blog.
If you are getting hundreds of readers to your blog everyday and you are not making money online, it is simply because you are not monetizing your blog.
There are many ways to monetize your blog, try them! If you try them and they don’t work, simply create your product! (make sure you have a decent traffic before trying to create your product!).
Achieving blogging success is about taking the right steps and doing the right things at the right time. There has NEVER been and there will NEVER be a magic bullet to making money online. The above are some basic things you should consider if you are stuck making money online.

Hi Onibalusi,
This is a very inspiring post for me. It has pointed out the mistakes which I am doing or I may do in the future…and how to solve them.
I have been giving a serious thought to guest blogging, but now I have to take the action.i like the “rework your strategies” part…nicely said.
Hi Sourav,
That is really great!
I am very happy this post has benefited you
Thanks a lot for the nice comment,
_Onibalusi
Fine tips Onibalusi.
Reworking my strategies and establishing a back end are the 2 tips which resonate with me over the past few months. You must be nimble. You also must depend on return customers.
Sometimes we get caught up in the numbers game and forget the numbers that we already have. Make it easy for your readers to get updates. And yes Onibalusi, you helped me greatly in this area recently, thank you

Hi Ryan,
Exactly! Many people are afraid to rework their strategies and that might be only what they need.
Concerning helping you, I am very happy to and I will be writing a post on that soon cos I see almost all my commenters I try to subscribe to also don’t have this.
Thanks so much for the nice comment, I really appreciate it,
-Onibalusi

You are really an inspiration to young Nigerians. Please keep up the good work.
Hi,
Thanks for highlighting some of the common mistakes made. I think it’s probably time to rethink the strategies I’ve used so far.
Just one thing, you mentioned the back-end. I’m currently using RSS alone, and it’s not getting the results I like. Can you recommend or elaborate more abt other back-end strategies?
Cheers,
Ming Jong
