The One Word (or Action) that Can Change Your Career this Year

You might be asking if that word really exist, or if I’m about to feed you some garbage? But yes, that word, and action, really exists, and it is so powerful that it can be classified as a magic word.

The funny thing is that very few writers use this word I’m talking about, and it is costing them their careers. This word is costing a lot of writers money, it is costing some writers time, it is costing some writers their productivity, and it is even costing some writers their entire career. That word is NO!

Say no to fear of rejection; you can’t be sure of success or failure unless you try.

Say no to distractions and things that don’t matter; things like TV and the latest movie in town can look so gentle, but if you’re not careful, they can cause irreparable damage to your career.

Say no to low pay; you might be worried about not being able to get another gig, but you have to stop clinging unto what you have before greater opportunities are unleashed

Say no to your fear of selling; selling is an integral part of our lives, and we have to do it, sooner or later, at one point of our lives.

Say no to overbearing clients; you have to lose them to get clients that will learn to treat you better.

Say no to lack of rest; it might be tempting to stay late to watch that TV show, but its impact on your career will be worth more than a night of sleep.

Say no to wasteful spending; having enough money saved in your account can have a huge impact in the quality of your decisions, and what you’re able to accept or not.

Say no to emotional breakdown; eating good foods, and a few minutes of exercise daily can have a huge impact on how you feel throughout the day.

Finally, say NO to perfectionism!; obsession with being perfect can cost you your career. A better approach is to release your work and refine it over time. It’s your gift to create, but creating alone won’t make your work perfect; you have to refine it based on feedback you get from the outside.

What else do you think you should say no to? Kindly let us know in the comments!
