Do you feel like you live in a writer-pay desert? I hear this complaint from freelance writers a lot. Some typical comments:

“I live in a small town where there are few opportunities.

“My area is economically depressed, so rates are very low.

“There are no big businesses nearby, so there aren’t any good gigs.

“I’m not in the United States, and there’s no good pay here.

“My English isn’t that good, so I can’t earn well.

“All the writing jobs on the Internet pay $5 an article now. I can’t find anything better.”

A New Year’s Survival Guide for Bloggers

Chances are that any minute now you’re going to get blasted with myriads of “new year’s resolutions for bloggers” posts. Or is it happening right now already? Anyway.

New year’s resolutions are all nice except for one little fact – they rarely find their place in reality.

Did you know that only 3% of new year’s resolutions are successful? You didn’t? That’s because it’s not true. But I’m sure you know well enough that most new year’s resolutions are bound to fail anyway. It’s almost like “a list of things I will try to do, only to fail miserably.”

So instead of the “resolution post” I’ve decided to write a “survival post.” Not only for you, but for myself as well. From all people I’m probably one who really needs some serious survival guidance. Here goes, the 7 lucky steps of survival for bloggers – 2012 edition.

I have been writing online since 2006. Since then, I’ve written over 2000 articles (lost track) and that doesn’t include my blog posts. I have also written a handful of writing tutorials and I answer a lot of writing questions on a regular basis through forums, emails and especially WA tutorial where I am one of the article marketing “experts”.

During the few years that I have been answering questions about article marketing I found myself being able to gather all those questions into five main categories. Among such categories I found five recurring mistakes that people are making and which make them fail with their article marketing campaigns.
