The love of money – This is the kind of love that is destroying the bloggers mind in turn destroying the blog itself.
Many people blog to make money and this is really great because you don’t have to be in the office or elsewhere working on a 9-5 schedule. But if you are eager to make money this is where you will fail to become a successful blogger.
I can bet that most of the successful bloggers today didn’t think about making money when they first started blogging else they wouldn’t be where they are today. Well might be they had money on their mind, but building up his/her blog was vital before the money thinking came to play. It is impossible for a new blogger to make six-figure if the blogger’s mind is focused on making money.
How can you keep your mind off money-making and focus on building a powerful blog?
Below I have come up with 3 tips to keep your mind clean from adopting the bad love of money habit.
Do Non-Blogging Activities
I find this topic really interesting because I was watching the television when I was writing this post. A program on Discovery Channel entitled “The Love Of Money” was being aired and I decided to write this blog with the same title.
The program was about “the love of money” and how this was destroying the world. This is the same for bloggers, the love of money is destroying the blogging world and slowly destroying the bloggers mind. Being too focused on making money and not delivering great contents to you readers is rapidly destroying the blog.
So watching the television helped me to write this post on my iPod Touch that I bought online from making money online.
Read A Book/Blog
Reading a book or better yet other blogs in your niche will keep your mind off making money plus it will help enhance your ability to write great blog posts.
As a popular saying goes, “reading maketh a man” and what I would derive from that is reading builds up a blogger. So do more reading and then the writing will come easily.
Blog Commenting/Networking
Making comments on other blogs to me is now a part of networking. When you make a comment on other blogs and then the owner replies directly to your comment, you can strike a conversation. And become friends with that blog owner.
Blog commenting is also a great way to get traffic to your blog and also great for building backlinks to increase your blog ranking.
Communicating with your followers on Twitter is great and powerful networking tool. Networking has been proven to build up your traffic by more than 50% and increase sales in affiliate marketing.
In Conclusion…
If you allow the love of money to take over your mind then your blog will die. Try not to let the love of money clog your mind and force you to destroy your blog.
Keep your mind clean by watching a TV program, read a book or other blogs, socialize with others and network to build up your blog traffic.

Hi Kharim,
Great post!
I agree. Many people fall to this trap. They see and aim for the money first.
But the thing is, if you provide value and if you only think about ‘How can I provide more VALUE’ instead of ‘How can I make more money’, the money will follow itself!
Cheers
Nabeel
Exactly my point Nabeel. Money is the shadow of blogging success. If you are successful at blogging then you will be successful at making money

Hi Kharim,
Excellent points!
Money in and of itself is a great thing; chasing it is a bad idea though because when you do something for the money you forget the real reason why you’re doing what you’re doing: to help others by providing a valuable service.
The thing about blogging or any activity is the less you do it for the money, the more money you make. This is because you’re blogging for the love of blogging and this passion attract great things like awesome people, opportunities and of course money.
Thanks for sharing your insight

Interesting post today. I am on Twitter and Facebook and though there are some good things on them there are also a lot of people that are just out there for themselves. For example, I am in real estate and it is amazing how many people I am following that use the sites above for another avenue to post “their” stuff. I know that we all need to survive in this world and work is one of those ways, but what about helping and assisting someone else out before thinking about yourself? Interesting post. Thank you again and look forward to more.
Thanks for your input David
Really appreciate it
You make a great point here. I do a lot og reading about blogging and traditional marketing principals. Like you, I also think blog commenting is a great way to network and build relationships with other bloggers.

I like the points of this “Blog Commenting / Networking”, “you can strike a conversation. And become friends with that blog owner.”
I’m new at blogging, I still have a lot to learn, I need a lot of friends who can help me.
thanks for great sharing
Thanks for the comment rososusilo… Blog commenting is really great… helps build up my blog by more than 80 % You can check my post on what blog comment has done for me
Got it right on the money Kharim (no pun intended
)
I think we all get a little wrapped up in our blogs sometime that we forget there’s so much in the world we can be learning from. Being on your blog all day will quickly burn you out and, in some ways, make you stale because you’re not out there experiencing new things.
My advice is for everyone to set aside some time (or even a whole day!) we’re you’re in offline mode. Take this time to spend with family/friends, read (like you said), go out to places and push beyond your boundaries.
You’ll always come back with fresh ideas for great posts
thanks Murlu
Interesting title! Yes, you are right Kharim! We should not always think of money. The content and traffic should come first before the money. We should focus on putting more effort on our blog before thinking about making money from it. Thanks for your sharing!
Thanks KS Chen for the comment
Nice post, Kharim.
Although I don’t totally agree with some points in the article but in general it is still good.
Thanks for your input Tek3D
When I started blogging, my ultimate aim was just to deliver quality contents to my readers, but when later i have changed my mind when I was in need of online income. So later I changed my website design that help to make money from Ads. But it didn’t affect the structure of website since I made so many modification.
Hi Pratish,
That is really great and exactly how it is supposed to be.

Kharim, i very much like this post. thanks.
Thanks for the comment and for reading Anish
Fantastic post. It is better to concentrate on quality first and then other things will follow. At least that is one vital lesson I have learnt since I started blogging.
You talk as if we are addicted to blogging.
Nice information, thanks for sharing this post. I think lots of people blog because it is cool way of making additional money and not because of the love for blogging…
Hi Luqman,
Thanks a lot for your nice comment, I really appreciate it.
